Frequently Asked Questions
Journey Kids
Children are very important to us at Journey Life Church.
We seek to provide a caring ministry to children and their parents. Children are assigned to classes based on their date of birth. They are loved and cared for by quality volunteers, allowing their parents to attend worship services without worry or concern.
How does Delivery and Pick Up Work?
To avoid confusion and to keep the nursery as safe as possible, we ask that you please not enter the classroom. Wait for the Journey Kids leader to receive or bring your child to you. Please do not drop off children earlier than 15 minutes before the service and please pick him/her up immediately after service. Even the most well adjusted child gets anxious when all the other children have left.
What about my Kids Belongings
Please label all your child’s belongings including bottles and pacifiers. Disposable diapers are requested. If your child is potty training, please send an extra pair of pants and let the teacher know. Be sure these are labeled as well. Please keep personal toys at home. This can create problems in a classroom setting.
My Kid is Sick!
Children who show signs of illness should be kept home. We ask children be free of fever, rashes, or diarrhea for 25 hours before coming to church.
Foods?
No baby foods will be served. Bottles will be given according to parent’s instructions. Water and crackers will be given in the nursery and preschool areas during each service. Sometimes additional snacks are given but they are listed on the wall outside of the classroom.
Allergies?
If your child has food allergies, please let check-in attendants know.
What if there is an Emergency?
In emergency situations the large screen in the sanctuary will be used to call you to your child’s area. We will put your child’s special security number on the screen. We may also use this if we feel that your child is not adjusting well and needs you to comfort him/her.
How do I Join the Journey Kids Team?
We have fantastic volunteers and staff every week creating ideas, crafting environments and coaching kids to help them grow up the right way. We don’t want to do it without you! So ask a Journey Kids worker how you can get involved today.
